The Company was incorporated on 12th July, 1954.

The main objectives & Activities of the company includes to carry on the business as merchants, importers, stockists, distributors, manufacturers, representatives selling agents and assemblers of motor parts and accessories of every kind.

2001 - The outstanding P1 + rating assigned to the RS 9-crore CP programme of India Motor
Parts and Assessories Ltd has been reaffirmed.

2005

- India Motor Parts & Accessories has given the Bonus in the Ratio of 1:1


2006

-Sri B Shanmugasundaram has been appointed as Secretary of the Company.

--Registered Office of the Company has been shifted From - 21, Patullos Road, Chennai 600 002; To "Sundaram Towers" 3rd Floor 46, Whites Road Chennai 600 014".


2012

-Mr. S. Vijayanand has been appointed as Company Secretary & Compliance officer of the Company.

-India Motor Parts & Accessories has given the Bonus in the Ratio of 1:1

2013
-N Kumar has been appointed as Company Secretary & Compliance Officer of the Company with effect from January 18, 2013.
-India Motor Parts & Accessories Ltd has informed that the Board of Directors of the Company has recommended a Final Dividend of Rs. 2.50/- (25%) per equity share

2014
-S Kalyanaraman as Company Secretary & Compliance officer of the Company with effect from February 06, 2014
-India Motor Parts & Accessories Ltd has informed that declared a Special Dividend of Rs. 4/- Per Share (40%) on account of completing 60 Years (Diamond Jubilee).

2019
-The Company has issued Bonus Shares in the Ratio of 1:2.

2021
-"Completion of Acquisition of Shares in Brakes India Private Limited".

2022
-The Company has completed the acquisition of 5 lakh equity shares of CAPL Motor Parts, subsidiary of the company.

2023
-The Company Got Approval from SEBI to Scheme of Amalgamation of CAPL Motor Parts Private Limited with India Motor Parts.
